YESTERDAY TODAY |

Art Decoscapes, the Art of Displaying Yesterday Today
is a brilliantly written and
photographed
book by Graham Abraham and Michael Wallace.
The premise of the first part of this book is to
show Art Deco items of the same type grouped together.
The last section displays these items as they
would be used in today’s home.
Over one thousand items are displayed and
fully described along with a current price guide.
Groupings are shown by either manufacturer,
materials used, function, or color.
Each photograph has an accompanying diagram to
explain the techniques used in the composition of the picture.
|
| This book is a
collector’s must, as it clearly shows the novice how to display one’s
personal collection of
Art Deco and Twentieth Century objects.
All groupings are in sevens, as that is the most
perfect way to display.
There are sections on Bakelite, chrome, burl
brown wood, aluminum, acrylic, cigarette lighters, and many other deco
pieces. |
| The last section
which takes the deco items and displays them amongst deco furniture in
actual room settings becomes a wonderful guide for any collector. |
